The influence of drying stages number and drying time of atmospheric heat pump fluidized bed drying of protein on the final product quality characteristics (residual moisture content, color, bulk density) was investigated. By means of mathematical modelling the set of possible values of process parametres and conditions that are able to provide the best product quality was found. After energy efficiency estimation of the found conditions using Kudra’s dynamic energy efficiency criteria and SMER the final values of process parameters that can provide the best product quality and energy efficiency were defined.
