SOLVENT EFFECTS IN THE ENTHALPY CHARACTERISTIC OF TETRAMETHYLBISUREA SOLVATION AT 298.15 K

Based on the results of calorimetric study of the tetramethylbisurea (the drug mebicar ) dissolution in water and methanol H/D isotopologues, in other low-molecular alcohols as well as in acetone and amides at T = 298.15 K and p = 0.1 MPa, the influence of solvent nature on the enthalpy effect of solvation of the specified bicyclic compound has been analysed. It is established that, together with proton-donating/accepting properties of the above solvents, the steric inconsistencies during the formation of solute - solvent hydrogen bonds play a key part, too.
