STUDY OF AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF 1-BUTYL-3-METHYLPYRIDINIUM CHLORIDE AND 1-BUTYL-3-METHYLIMIDAZOLIUM TRIFLUOROMETHANESULFONATE BY CONDUCTOMETRIC AND ISOPIESTIC METHODS

Specific conductivity of the diluted solutions of 1-butyl-3-methylpyridinium chloride and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate have been measured in the 20 - 65 °C temperature range. By using conductometric data and the Lee-Wheaton equation, the thermodynamic parameters of association of the investigated ionic liquid have been calculated. It was established that with temperature increase, the association of the investigated IL also increases. Water activity and osmotic coefficients of concentrated aqueous solutions of IL have been measured at 25 °C by isopiestic method
