EFFICIENT REMOVAL OF La(III) AND Nd(III) FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS USING CARBON NANOPARTICLES

Effect of different conditions (pH of solution, amount of adsorbent, the contact time and the initial concentration of investigated rare earth metals) on the adsorption of La (III) and Nd (III) on the carbon nanoparticles (CNP) was investigated. It was found that the optimum adsorption for the removal studied metals from contaminated water were 0.02g/25ml of carbon nanoparticles at pH 7.0 after 40 min of adsorption. Carbon nanoparticles can be considered as potential adsorbents to target metal ions from wastewater.
