SYNTHESIS OF CALCIUM PHOSPHATE NANOPARTICLES BY ARRESTED PRECIPITATION METHOD

Calcium phosphate nanoparticles were synthesized by arrested precipitation method. Stabilizers polyoxyethylene(20)sorbitan monooleate (Tween 80) or sodium citrate were used for the restriction of the nanoparticle growth. In presence of sodium citrate hierarchical structures were formed: nanoparticles diameter ~20 nm aggregated and formed nanorods 80-150 nm long. Nanorods were combined into spherical agglomerates of a few micrometer size. In the case of stabilization by Tween 80 nanoparticles 10-20 nm size aggregated to form nanorods. Nanorods were combined to form nanoplates, which formed foam-like structures.
