Studying of methods of the high-energy chemistry used in processes of water treatment and water purification was carried out. It is established that the most widespread is use of plasmochemical methods, in particular the dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), for receiving ozone and other active particles, with the subsequent their use for oxidation of the pollutants, present at water. The main reactions proceeding in the DBD reactor were presented. The main merits and demerits of studied methods were described.
