THERMAL DECOMPOSITION OF 1,2,3,4-TETRAZINE-4,6-DI-N, N'-OXIDE DERIVATIVES

Thermal decomposition of the 1,2,3,4-tetrazine-1,3-dioxide derivatives in isothermal conditions has been studied. It is shown that the stability of the methyl ester of triazolotetrazine trioxide (TDOTzOMe) in melt and in the solid state is smaller than the stability of furazanetetrazinedioxide (FTDO). At the same time the stability of triazolotetrazine trioxide (TDOTzOH) is much higher and comparable to the stability of nitric esters. It is suggested that, in spite of the similar activation energies, the initial stage of decomposition affects different heterocycles.
