Thermal decomposition of melted 3,4-bis(4'-nitrofurazan-3'-yl)-2-oxofurazan (DNTF) in isothermal and non isothermal conditions has been studied. As it turned out, its thermal stability is close to the stability of HMX. Burning rate of DNTF is close to the burning rate of CL-20. The thermocouple measurements in the combustion wave of DNTF showed that combustion of DNTF controls by gas-phase mechanism.
