The combustion behavior of mixtures of ammonium perchlorate (AP) with a high content of ferrocenes and metal polyboride has been investigated. The dependence of burning rate on pressure for propellants containing various fractions of AP has been found to show a decreasу in the pressure exponent after a break, and the break shifts to high–pressure region when the AP particle size decreases. A mechanism has been proposed that implies the condensed-phase interaction of ferrocene with perchloric acid as the leading reaction of combustion. Thermocouple-aided study allowed us to estimate the depth of oxidation of metal poliboryde in the combustion wave.
