A low-cost method of deoxygenatind water wherein ascorbate anion adsorbed on a highly basic anion-exchanger effectively binds dissolved oxygen in an essentially neutral medium is proposed. Dehydroascorbate anion thus formed is adsorbed on the anion-exchanger, so it does not contaminate conditioned water. The method could be used in the industry of pharmaceuticals, biochemicals and beauty products.
