An extreme character of the dependence of the bitumen yield on the concentration of alkaline agents in a working solution during ultrasonic separation of oil sand is found. Surface and interfacial tensions on the boundaries of the working solution with air and bitumen were measured that confirmed the formation of natural surfactants during the process. The minimum yield of bitumen is observed in the region of the ultralow values of interfacial tension, which facilitate the formation of a stable emulsion.
