Preparation of nanopowders yttrium-aluminum garnet (YAG) by hybrid sol-gel method using aluminum alkoxide Al(C4H9O)3 and YCl3*6H2O as precursors is discussing. It was found that the solid products of different phase composition arise depending on the type of hydrolysis as well as on temperature and time of the following treatment. The 100% yield of YAG phase containing spherical particles of ~ 70 nm size and their agglomerates was achieved by using the aqueous solution of yttrium salt. The samples of ceramics without intracrystalline porosity were fabricated.
