In order to estimate a contribution of active carbon surface compounds to its electrochemical and biocompatible properties a process of pyrrole electropolymerization on the surface of thermoexpanded graphite (TEG) was investigated. It was shown that open circuit potential (OCP) of TEG, covered by polypyrrole, shifted to positive values. On the contrary, OCP of active carbon, 48 covered by polypyrrole too, shifted to the opposite direction. It was found that the biocompatibility of TEG, covered by polypyrrole, depended on the range of coating’s potential and the thickness of the film.
