The ZnO powders with the various sizes of crystallites from a few to 1000 nm were obtained by sol-gel method. It was determined that a character of initial derivative zinc affects the sizes and the shape of the synthesized ZnO crystallites. Use of organic Zn-derivatives in synthesis allows researchers to get more superfine ZnO powders, than from inorganic acid derivatives. Nanostructured ZnO powders were synthesized with crystallites size 30 100 nm. It is likely that the sizes of crystallites are formed already on the stage of the colloids generating.
