The spectral properties of 4-acylaminonaphthalimide derivatives containing benzodithia- 15-crown-5 and N-phenylazadithia-15-crown-5 ether functionality as N-aryl substituent were investigated in MeCN solutions both in the presence and absence of metal cations. The compounds under study were found to bind selectively mercury (II) ions resulting in the enhancement of fluorescence intensity. Azacrown ether naphthalimide derivative was used as the basis for preparing the polymer sensor materials, which demonstrated the ability to detect Ag+ and Hg2+ cations in water solutions at concentrations of about 10-5 mol / L.
